We've just changed the '''''Tip of the Day''''' template to make it easier to use and so that it provides a direct link to your user page (where your points/status is shown). That new template works for tips submitted from this point forward. For previously submitted Tips, there is no way to automatically update them. But you can update your tips and earn 100 points by simply updating your Tip pages. See the [[Tip of the Day:Submitting a Tip|Submit a Tip]] page for details.

Since 1976, SAS users have gathered to share the unique ways they use SAS. At the end of each annual conference, the SAS Users Group International (SUGI) and later as SAS Global Forum collected all the individual papers (and posters) presented that year and published them in a volume of proceedings. These historical proceedings contain a vast number of papers which contain methods and techniques that are not available anywhere else to the SAS User Community.
+

+
Proceedings ''before'' SUGI 21 have not been accessible online - they were available only in bound paper volumes.  To address this, the SAS Global Users Group Executive Board began a project in May 2010 to digitally capture SAS.ONE through SUGI 21 proceedings and make them available to the global SAS Community on sasCommunity.org.

sasCommunity Tip of the Day

You can verify that you installed SAS correctly and that it is operational using two tools supplied by the SAS Institute. The two tools are the SAS Installation Qualification Tool (SAS IQ) and the SAS Operational Qualification Tool (SAS OQ).

To quote from the SAS documentation:

  • The SAS IQ assists you in demonstrating the SAS System has been installed and maintained to the manufacturer's specifications. SAS IQ verifies the integrity of each file in the SAS System 9 and provides the customer a set of reports detailing the results.
  • The SAS OQ assists you in demonstrating the SAS System is operational. SAS OQ uses SAS programs provided by the component development groups and will execute, process, and report the program results.

To get more information on both of tools, including the platforms that they run on, see the see also links.

If you have a tough-to-please boss, or a regulatory entity looking over your shoulder, you may want to make using both of these tools an integral part of your SAS installation regimen.

Attention All Tipsters

We've just changed the Tip of the Day template to make it easier to use and so that it provides a direct link to your user page (where your points/status is shown). That new template works for tips submitted from this point forward. For previously submitted Tips, there is no way to automatically update them. But you can update your tips and earn 100 points by simply updating your Tip pages. See the Submit a Tip page for details.
