Grid computing is becoming more and more integral to the SAS System. Processing larger amounts of data in shorter periods of time has become a necessity. However, grid computing is not necessarily something new. The concept and the ability to process data in a parallel fashion have been available to SAS users for the past 20 years.
In our presentation we will give a brief history and evolution of SAS/Connect software discussing some of the important concepts related to grid or parallel processing. We will also demonstrate a Tabulation System highlighting the issues that pertain to a modern day SAS Grid system.

This presentation will discuss how Health Statistics Division came to build their own SAS resources sharing community.
11:10 Get Certified as a Base and Advanced SAS Programmer - Pinchao Ma, Statistics Canada
In this presentation, the presenter will generally introduce the SAS Certified Professional Program, as well as review the benefits of becoming a SAS Certified Programmer. Also the presenter will talk about the coverage and the registration of the certification exams. In addition, the presenter will share his experience and strategies in preparing for these two exams.
