SDSUG Mission Statement: This is a volunteer group whose primary purpose is to provide a forum for the exchange of information and promotion of new ideas concerning SAS and related products and to assist participants in developing SAS skills.
Organization Facts: SDSUG held its inaugural meeting on November 7, 2006. SDSUG became incorporated as a Non-Profit organization in the State of South Dakota on March 8, 2007. SDSUG Joined the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce on March 19, 2007
Current Officers are: Chairman/Founder = Rex Pruitt (Email Rex Pruitt), PREMIER Bankcard Co-Chairman = Tobey Eich, PREMIER Bankcard
Decisions made, and activities performed, on behalf of SDSUG by the current officers are governed by a steering committee of 5-15 volunteer representatives from the SDSUG forum. Reviews are performed quarterly. All excess proceeds from SDSUG events are donated to a local charitable organization.
2006 Annual Meeting/Conference: SDSUG 2006 was the inaugural meeting held at the Ramkota Hotel on November 7, 2006. There was an overwhelming response and the event was a wonderful opportunity to learn and share information. The morning workshop and one of the afternoon talks were given by Andrew Karp of Sierra Information Services. Rex Pruitt of PREMIER Bankcard gave one of the afternoon presentations. David Kelley, Manger of the Output Delivery and Reporting development team at SAS Institute’s worldwide headquarters in Cary, NC gave the remaining two presentations on the afternoon of Nov 7.
2007 Annual Meeting/Conference: SDSUG 2007 One-Day Event for SAS Software Users Tuesday, June 12 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. This event was attended by more than 35 users. We had the privilege of hosting a "Ribbon Cutting" held by the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce that was attended by an additional 20+ representatives of the chamber at 11:30 AM. 2008 Annual Meeting/Conference: The SDSUG 2008 One-Day Conference was held on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. There were over 40 in attendance and the meeting was a huge success. Thank you to all the speaker and volunteers that made this event possible.
2009 Annual Meeting/Conference: The SDSUG 2009 Annual Conference was held on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Ramkota Hotel. There was a 2-Track, Beginner and Advanced topical venue. Guest speakers from SAS Institute, the Midwest SAS Users Group, and local users presented on selected topics from previous attendee feedback.
SDSUG 2009 was a success with 40 attendees. Thank you to all who volunteered in order to make it happen. Special thanks to SAS Institute and their 3 visiting speaker representatives who graciously shared their knowledge and insights with the group. All would agree that this was a valuable learning and sharing experience. Please watch for upcoming information on next year’s event.
2010 Annual Meeting/Conference: Please reserve Thursday, April 29, 2010 on your calendar for a full day SAS experience.
This is our 5th year and we are looking forward to continued success in helping the local SAS user community in harmony with the SDSUG Mission. The "SDSUG Planning Committee" has finalized the date for the event noted above and is currently in the process of finalizing the agenda.
