Here are some tips for How to share your SAS knowledge with your professional network.
Talk:SouthEast SAS Users Group
Annual SESUG conference, 2014, Myrtle Beach
We had a great opening session tonight for the 2014 annual Southeast regional, SESUG, in Myrtle Beach, South Carolina. Chairs Abbas Tavakoli and Darryl Putnam were great and the keynote speaker, Chuck Kincaid, was fantastic.
We are off to a great start, thanks to: Executive Council, Section Chairs, Volunteers, including session coordinators, speakers, HOW presenters, and preconference trainers, “It is worth it!” The papers have been loaded to the SESUG website for ten tracks: (see the website for the section titles from Application Development to Posters to Statistics and Data Analysis.)
SESUG is doing social media, including LinkedIn; We have a charity drive going; 17 student stood to be recognized; invited professors and young professionals were also recognized. Nancy Moser was introduced and spoke for SAS and had the SAS personnel stand and be recognized—many great presentations tomorrow and the next day.
It would be nice to get a copy of the talk Chuck Kincaid gave—good will, inspiration, knowledge and insights were provided for the importance of people in our efforts and good results using SAS software. There is a great need for good programmers and data scientists. Great pictures and quote were included, such as, “We have a wake-up call from the silence of complacency” and “With power, comes responsibility.”
Before going to the refreshments and visiting, our leaders gave thanks for family support.

The closing session was great! It was during a buffet lunch on the last day. Additional presentations followed in the afternoon. Abbas Tavakoli and Darryl Putnam have done a great job for 2014. The 2015 annual SESUG conference will be September 27-29 in Savannah Georgia with William ‘Bill’ Benjamin and Venita DePuy serving as cochairs: Bill is academic chair and Venita is operations chair. They came to the stage dressed as superheroes, a knight dressed with costume and sword, and Venita as one of Charlie’s Angels.
