sasCommunity Tip of the Day

%* In open code the macro
%* variable &X is NOT created;
*%let x = 5;
%macro abc;
%* Macro variable &Y IS created;
*%let y = 5;
%put &y;
%mend abc;
%abc *;

It is not unusual for programmers to use the asterisk-style comment to comment-out macro statements, however this technique does not always work. Be sure to use a macro comment when commenting out macro statements.
