A lot of your questions concerning SAS system requirements can be answered by simply accessing the SAS Institute's SAS System Requirements web pages. These web pages provide you with direct links to the system requirements documents for all platforms that SAS runs on. Additionally, they provide an interactive "knowledge base" that allows you to search the system requirement documents based on Product and Operating System.

See the documentation for the SAS Systems Requirements. Utilizing the SAS Systems Requirement web pages can save you a lot of time and effort when researching which versions of operating systems SAS products--and SAS, itself--run on.
