Tom Abernathy, Matt Kastin and Arthur Tabachneck wrote a macro that lets one: (1) include or exclude a variable name or variable label row; (2) export formatted or unformatted data; (3) use excel templates; (4) add to an existing worksheet; (5) copy to a non-predefined range; and (6) not run into 32-bit/64-bit incompatibilities. And it doesn't even require SAS/Access for PC File Formats.

Additionally, the macro uses the same parameters as proc export, and its supporting paper even shows how it can be run as a SAS abbreviation. more
