sasCommunity Tip of the Day
The default installation of SAS (on my computer) points me to directory C:\Documents and Settings\my_userid for opening .sas files from the editor, every time I open SAS. But, if you are like many people, and work for a company that wants you to store your .sas program files on a server, this is annoying and time consuming to navigate to the server each and every time you open SAS and want to start using one of your programs. Solution: use the SASINITIALFOLDER option in your CONFIG file. Example:
Upon startup, SAS now defaults to opening programs from whatever folder you just specified.
Further, if you work on several projects, you could have a different CONFIG file, each with its own SASINITIALFOLDER option, for each project, and this will always point you to the directory where your .sas programs for that project are stored.
