Over the years I've seen plenty of discussion threads about "how do I get a start in Pharma programming?" This made me wonder, maybe it would be helpful to have a thread where actual Pharma programmers describe how they got their first SAS programming jobs in Pharma.
Perhaps touching on points like:
What was your first job title / role?
Were you working for a pharmaceutical company or CRO?
Were you an experienced SAS programmer before you started programming in Pharma?
How did you find out about the job opening (job posting, recruiter, conference networking...)
Did you complete any Pharma-specific training classes/certifications prior to your first job (e.g. CDISC training, or SAS certification for pharma programming)
And of course, feel free to share any tips for people looking for their first Pharma job, whether they are experienced SAS programmers or newbies. I've always heard it's notoriously difficult to get your first Pharma job.

The course references this library:
libname locallib 'home/student/DMML35';
but I am working on my own machine so I don't have access to that library. Where should I save the course materials? I tried saving them my users folder
libname locallib '/Users/Training Materials';
But I get
ERROR: Library locallib does not exist.
I do see it on my list of libraries but I can't open it.

Hello Community, I'm at a crossroads and would appreciate your insights. I aspire to work as a biostatistician or data scientist in the pharmaceutical sector, where proficiency in SAS is often a prerequisite. While I haven't used SAS in my previous roles, it seems crucial for roles in the pharma industry. Considering this, do you think it's worth investing 1-2 years to learn SAS for my career goals, or do you foresee a shift towards R/Python in these industries in the near future? Your advice and perspectives are highly valued. Thanks in advance!

Hi all - ¿How can I connect files from a web server to sas viya? I want to automatically capture the log files in .gz, and then process them (ex: domain.com-2024-04-11.gz).
