ABSTRACT

The SAS System offers many techniques for exchanging data to and from Microsoft® Excel. There are so many ways it is often hard to choose. Depending on the task at hand the Output Delivery System might be a good choice. Other options include creating a Comma-Separated Values (CSV) file using the DATA step, Dynamic Data Exchange (DDE), SAS Access® to PC File Formats and SAS Access to OLEDB. This paper will discuss some of the advantages and pitfalls of using these various methods using SAS version 8.2.
