In the real world of robust environments, developers should test their code prior to placing on the production system. This concept might be a bit foreign to the majority of us SAS programmers. Now with SAS v9, there are many tools that actually can and should be changed immediately, take SAS Web Report Studio and SAS Information Delivery Portal. Therefore, creating a stringent dev-test-prod for all events and SAS v9 products can drastically reduce the reason the business clients wanted the system in the first place. Included in the presentation is a discussion on how to classify events and establish SAS v9 environments to address change management for SAS EBI products.
