This category is being used to gather articles on both the MISSING function and the CALL MISSING routine. Generally CALL routines are a special class of functions and their names are either unique, relative to the functions, or if they have a common name they perform the same basic operation. This is not the case with the MISSING function and the MISSING routine.

  • The CALL MISSING routine sets its arguments to missing.
  • The MISSING function determines whether or not the argument is missing.

Proposed remedy: Set up a separate CALL MISSING Statement category. Also, the generic CALL Statement category should gather this and other CALL xxxx Statement pages and categories. Those CALL statements which have sibling functions can also point to them.--Howles 17:38, 29 November 2011 (EST)

We are now going to specify CALL routines in the functions and routines category as XXX Routine. Therefore the MISSING function and the MISSING routine will each have their own slot - rather than combining them.--Art Carpenter (talk) 12:31, 9 April 2017 (CDT)
