The Epidemiology Analyst III conducts SAS programming and analysis as needed for pharmacoepidemiologic research studies, provides database support and maintenance, and contributes to report and manuscript writing. REQUIRED SKILLS:

  • MS or MPH in Epidemiology, Biostatistics, Economics, Statistics (or equivalent) required.
  • 5+ years work experience in a pharmaceutical/biotech or research setting required.
  • 5+ years programming experience with SAS (very strong programming skills) required.
  • Able to work on two to three research studies simultaneously.
  • Develop ability to mentor new and more junior analysts.
  • Able to assess requirements of projects and appropriately shift workload to meet project deadlines.
  • Able to identify data issues and take initiative toward resolving them.
  • resent issues and resolutions to rest of analytic group.


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Execute (or oversee execution of) the analytic plan for research studies.
  • Assess feasibility of analytic plan and timeline associated with analytic plan.
  • Create/modify SAS programs to carry out the analytic plan.
  • Provide analytic advice to project team members; investigate issues with the data and report findings back to team.
  • Serve as lead analyst on large studies that require more than one analyst to complete the work.
  • Document steps taken and proof/crosscheck results.
  • Assist in the preparation of analytic results and study methodology in the form of client reports, journal manuscripts, and abstracts/posters for professional meetings.
  • Draft and review methods section of reports.
  • Generate/maintain SAS databases needed to conduct medical record chart abstraction.
  • Assess time needed to accomplish tasks; shift priorities/projects as needed
  • Assist in the preparation of analytic results and study methodology in the form of client reports, journal manuscripts, and abstracts/posters for professional meetings.
  • Draft and review methods section of reports.
  • Generate/maintain SAS databases needed to conduct medical record chart abstraction.
  • Assess time needed to accomplish tasks; shift priorities/projects as needed.
  • Assist in the preparation of bids for new work, including completing (or overseeing the completion of) feasibility studies.
  • Serve as technical resource to other analysts.
  • Present new programs/techniques to other analysts.
  • Develop ability to mentor new analysts.
  • Validate the work of other analysts.
  • Assist with recruiting, new hire training, or other activities that support the analyst team.
