External RSS feeds

When I try to add an RSS feed to my Google home page, I continually get the message "Information is temporarily unavailable. I created the link by following the RSS menu item in the navigation box on the left. --Statprof 09:50, 2 March 2007 (EST)

After discussion it appears that this is due to the http protections on the site. Once we remove them, the RSS feeds should work ok since they simply go out via the regular HTTP Port 80.
