POSITION:Statistical Programmer/Data Analyst ( 38054)
DURATION:12-month, grant-funded position, subject to renewal contingent on funding
LOCATION:Boston, MA
DESCRIPTION: Department of Health Care Policy, Harvard Medical School, seeks a statistical programmer/data analyst to work with a multidisciplinary group of researchers on projects involving assessment of health care treatments and policies. Primary responsibilities involve managing (linking, cleaning, documenting) and analyzing large complex observational databases including claims databases; and summarizing and communicating results. This person will be responsible for creating analytic files based on administrative data and household surveys for analyses related to cost, utilization and quality of care. This position will need to write SAS programs to analyze data according to research specifications produce reports and build tools, databases and macros for commons use. Also, they will create programs and algorithms as discussed with PI and will be responsible for data collections, testing, documentation and quality of data. This position will collaborate with research team and share best practices with in their research group and the HCP programmer group.
REQUIRED SKILLS:
A master's degree in Biostatistics or an equivalent degree in a quantitative health area is required with 5 years' related experience. A PhD is preferred.
