Include Your LinkedIn Profile

In order to minimize the number of places you need to enter information about who you are and what you do, sasCommunity.org provides a simple way to include your LinkedIn profile on your user page (or any page for that matter).

Just follow the simple steps below.


  • Step 1
    • (A) Log in to sasCommunity.org if necessary.
    • (B) Go to your User page. Hint: right click on your user-name at the top of this page and open your User page in a new window or tab. That way you can come back and look at these instructions as you follow them.
    • (C) On your User page, select the Edit tab.

  • Step 2
    Enter the following text:

|profile=YOUR-URL
|name=YOUR-NAME
}}

  • Step 3
    Enter your name and your LinkedIn public URL. To get your public url, login to LinkedIn

  • Step 4
    Select View My Profile

  • Step 5
    The Value of Public Profile is what you want to use.

  • Step 6
    By default, LinkedIn provides a randomly generated string for your public profile. You can customize it. Select Edit My Profile

  • Step 7
    Select Edit

  • Step 8
    Enter a value and click Set Address. LinkedIn will tell if you the value you enter is already owned by someone else.

You can also include a third parameter which says to include a link that creates a popup window with your profile (instead of displaying it inline on the page). include your profile but to

  • If you have a company profile, you can include your Company LinkedIn Profile as well or instead). Instead of
    {{#Widget:LinkedIn_Profile . . . 
    use
    {{#Widget:LinkedIn_Company . . .
