Perform accurate and complete data extraction from databases or information systems to meet project requirements. Apply statistical techniques to develop models utilizing large-scale database systems. Merge, transform, manipulate, and create datasets into required format for analysis. Graph, chart, plot, and summarize data. Knowledgeable of descriptive statistics, inferential statistics, and statistical programming packages (e.g., SAS, SPSS), including the application and use of specific methodologies, best practices and technologies. Work under general supervision with latitude for independent judgment. May consult with senior peers on certain projects. Moderate skills with high level of proficiency. Typically requires four to five years of experience.
Duties will include: • SAS programming for data analysis and data preparation. • Building analytic forecasting models and evaluating results. • Writing reports and creating presentations for analytical projects. • Generating tables, listings, and graphs as required. • Interacting with others to ensure a high level of client satisfaction through successful execution of projects.
Requirements: • B.S. or M.S. degree in computer science, business or a related field. • A minimum of five years of experience in SAS programming. • Proficiency with base SAS and SAS/STAT. • Analytical skills to evaluate, understand, and interpret data from client’s perspective. • Ability to work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment. • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal). • Positive attitude and motivation, and ability to work well with others.
Preferences: • Programming expertise in one of the following: VB 5+ years, SAS 5+ years, or SPSS 5+ years. • Industry expertise in financial services, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, telecommunications, and/or retail. • Domain expertise in data quality, master data management, ETL, BI/DW, CDI, application integration, and/or data migration. • Experience in SQL and DB applications, sizing/performance tuning. • Familiarity with data quality tools such as SAS EDI, DataFlux, Trillium, First logic. • Working knowledge of relational databases such as Oracle, Db2, SQL Server and Teradata. • Strong experience and proficiency in at least one relational database such as Oracle, DB2 and Teradata. • Expert understanding of data warehousing concepts and best practices. • Working knowledge of UNIX system administration, performance monitoring and evaluation.
