We are accepting applications from dynamic energetic professionals for a model development specialist position in the Market Forecast Department of the Consumer Marketing and Sales Division in Winnipeg, Manitoba. The successful candidate will develop Residential and Commercial energy sales forecasts for electricity and natural gas using econometrics and regression analyses. You will also be required to develop an Hourly Load Temperature Model for electric generation and a Daily Load Temperature Model for natural gas supply requirements.

As the Model Development Specialist you will:

- Maintain, operate and enhance the Electric Hourly Load Temperature Model and the Natural Gas Daily Load Temperature Model - Develop econometric models to forecast Residential and Commercial electricity and natural gas sales - Develop weather-adjustment models for energy sales, generation and peak demand - Prepare monthly variance reports comparing weather-adjusted sales versus forecast - Develop sampling frames and post-stratification techniques for energy use surveys - Computerize the printing of all tables and graphs into forecast documents - Respond to internal, external and Public Utility Board requests

Applicants will possess a Bachelor's degree in Statistics and a minimum of four years directly related work experience demonstrating expertise in using statistical packages to produce explanatory models and model simulations. The successful candidate will possess excellent analytical, problem solving and computer skills. A thorough knowledge of Microsoft Office is required. Demonstrated experience using the SAS statistical software package would be an asset.
