POSITION: Programmer/Analyst I

DURATION: Indefinite

LOCATION: Washington, DC

DESCRIPTION: The Information Technology Department at The Urban Institute is looking for a SAS Programmer to work with more senior researchers and support important social science research in the criminal justice areas.

QUALIFICATIONS: Incumbent must have 3 years of experience working with large data sets and experience writing SAS programs. Knowledge of C++ or C# a plus. Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or a related field is required. Candidate should also possess problem solving skills, basic project management abilities and excellent oral and written communication skills. Salary is commensurate with experience.

RESPONSIBILITIES: The candidate will work with large data sets, analyze data for consistency and quality, and write SAS programs to perform data reconstruction and database management. SAS platforms include Alpha(VMS) and PC.
