SAS Business Intelligence Project Manager/Contract Position

Seeking senior, experienced Project Manager for large health insurance provider in the San Francisco Bay area. SAS Business Intelligence (BI) Data Warehousing experience is mandatory as is PMP certification.

This role requires:

Minimum ten years technical infrastructure and business PM background managing medium to large scale enterprise projects with varying degrees of complexity.

A deep understanding of IT infrastructure and/or application systems; a thorough understanding of system and/or application development life cycle is required. You will provide advanced leadership in planning, procuring, designing and implementing the proper technologies to meet the business needs of the organization.

General project management deliverables include project plans, status reports, and budget actual to plan reports, presentations, and communication plans. You will manage the project plan, resources, tasks and milestones to drive the project to completion and measure progress and maintains project metrics. You will determine and communicate cost/benefit and risk/reward trade-offs during entire project cycle. You have a proven ability to translate business needs into technical requirements/solutions. A comprehensive knowledge of problem root/cause analysis, structured analysis, and design and programming techniques is required.

You possess excellent knowledge of SDLC and industry methodologies and can communicate and coordinate across department boundaries during the entire project life cycle. You are able to drive a project across functional teams and effectively deal well with all levels of the organization. Matrix management experience highly desired.

You will guide the project to on time completion within budget with achievement of stated objectives and resolve project issues while managing expectation and risk

• Experience/understanding of Business Intelligence strategies • Significant project management experience • Advisory skills in areas of Business Intelligence, Data Warehousing and Implementation strategy • Significant experience implementing technologies in the areas of data warehousing, business intelligence, reporting • Strong understanding of several business functions addressed by BI solutions, including Financial Management/Reporting, Supply Chain, Sales and Marketing • Mastery of methodologies used to implement BI solutions • Experience with at least two to three full-life cycle implementation • Excellent oral and written communication skills and a proven ability to work in cross functional/matrix managed organizations. • Must have strong people management skills, are flexible, adaptable and an excellent communicator • Bachelors or Masters Degree in Computer Science or related field with 10+ years PM experience • PMI/PMP Certification essential. • Experience with MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Outlook) and MS Project expertise essential; MS Visio, MS SharePoint and issue management desired. • Industry experience in technology, healthcare, utility services and banking and finance preferred. • Systems experience with business intelligence and datawarehousing essential.
