This section is primarily for SAS System users with little or no experience, although some topics may be of interest to those with more background. It will give an overview of core concepts for using SAS and good practices for being a SAS user in order to build a solid knowledge base for working in the SAS System. Appropriate topics include, but are not limited to:

• DATA step programming, including functions, formats, and dates and times
• Enterprise Guide
• the SQL procedure
• best practices for documentation
• diagnosing problems with SAS code

Foundations and Fundamentals is an all-invited section.
