With increased interest in healthcare reform and health IT, healthcare providers and insurers are important stakeholders as new policies and solutions are discussed. Papers and presentations in this section will focus on approaches and technologies used by providers and insurers, as well as those in related areas such as the analysis of consumer surveys of healthcare, administrative data, or new approaches to electronic health records. Of particular interest will be papers on using SAS analytics and reporting tools to:

• Enhance patient safety and quality of care.
• Evaluate the comparative effectiveness of different healthcare interventions.
• Report data to employers, identify fraud, or predict risk.
• Integrate provider data to inform disease management strategies that lower costs and improve enrollee health.
• Address confidentiality issues with respect to healthcare data.
