Our client is seeking to hire to hire a FULL TIME SAS PROGRAMMER

(US CITIZENSHIP REQUIRED FOR CLEARANCE)!!!

The SAS Programmer will be responsible for developing program specifications/ design, code, test and debug application programs. Additionally, the you will participate in application design of systems, including analytical skills. The candidate will be the key contact for Data Management by designing and implementing automated, standardized data management reports. You will also support programming needs for statistical projects. This position is located at a client site in Suitland, MD.

RESPONSIBILITIES include, but are not limited to: • Review and understand system requirements and specifications. • Design and implement automated standardized Data Mgt. reports. • Participate and coordinate with programming the development, testing, and de-bugging of testing and training databases prior to production activation. • Create and provide support for standardized and ad-hoc SQL queries. • Create and assist in the development of standardized validation specifications along standardized data definitions for implementation. • Comply with standard operating procedures for programming. • Communicate project status and key project issues to Project Manager.

The ideal candidate for SAS Programmer must possess the following qualifications:


• B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering or related • 4 to 8 years of related experience • Proficiency in Microsoft Access, SAS/Base, SAS/Macro, SAS/AF, SAS/EIS in a UNIX or Windows environment • Experience with data integration and system dependencies • Ability to develop, debug, maintain, and validate-project specific SAS programs to generate SAS datasets, summary tables, data listings, and graphic displays according to departmental standards • Excellent technical communication skills, both verbal and written • Strong analytical skills and attention to detail in composing materials, establishing priorities, scheduling and meeting deadlines • Ability to balance multiple projects concurrently • Ability to work independently • Extensive work with SQL and Oracle • Maintaining documentation on all customizations
