POSITION:SAS Utility Analytics Consultant

JOB DURATION:1-2 years

LOCATION: Los Angeles area

DESCRIPTION: Consulting client that specializes in providing services to the Electric Utility Industry in the Western United States. Has an immediate opportunity for a SAS Utility Analytics professionals with at least 5+ years of experience in SAS Utility Analytics and the following: Industry Experts: Seeking resources who possess • Experience in transmission and distribution, specifically in distribution engineering, system planning, grid operations, distributed energy resources, and demand response • Thorough understanding of SCADA and AMI data • Strong understanding of electrical system hierarchy • Ability to employ statistical methods in the development of time-series profiles and long-term forecasts, including aggregation and disaggregation of these profiles and forecasts • Mandatory experience in producing time-series electric demand forecasting using SAS tools, including Forecast Studio and Visual Analytics • A working knowledge of programming languages such as python and R is preferred • Background in statistical methods and data science including predictive, supervised, and unsupervised models • Ability to incorporate weather, socioeconomic, economic, demographic, and geographical data in the creation of long-term time-series forecasts • Ability to develop and inform business processes • Ability to support agile software development processes • Ability to understand complex technical issues and leading resolutions by partnering with subject matter experts • Strong oral and written communication skills

These roles are in the Los Angeles area and will be 1 year in duration. Client requires professional to work on the Los Angeles area on site, not open to Virtual Office.


POSTING EXPIRATION DATE:


REQUIRED SKILLS: BSEE, BSCS or Equivalent and 5+ years of experience in SAS Utility Analytics

  • Skill 1 Mandatory experience in producing time-series electric demand forecasting using SAS tools, including Forecast Studio and Visual Analytics
  • Skill 2 Experience in transmission and distribution, specifically in distribution engineering, system planning, grid operations, distributed energy resources, and demand response
  • Skill 3 Ability to employ statistical methods in the development of time-series profiles and long-term forecasts, including aggregation and disaggregation of these profiles and forecasts


RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Responsibility 1 A working knowledge of programming languages such as python and R is preferred
  • Responsibility 2 Background in statistical methods and data science including predictive, supervised, and unsupervised models
