SDSUG Mission Statement: This is a volunteer group whose primary purpose is to provide a forum for the exchange of information and promotion of new ideas concerning SAS and related products and to assist participants in developing SAS skills.

Organization Facts: SDSUG held its inaugural meeting on November 7, 2006. SDSUG became incorporated as a Non-Profit organization in the State of South Dakota on March 8, 2007. SDSUG Joined the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce on March 19, 2007

Current Officers are: Chairwoman = Lori Sissing, Capital Services. Secretary = Kara Paulson, Capital Services. Treasurer = Tobey Eich, PREMIER Bankcard.

Decisions made, and activities performed, on behalf of SDSUG by the current officers are governed by a steering committee of 5-15 volunteer representatives from the SDSUG forum. Reviews are performed quarterly. Proceeds are used to administrate SDSUG and procure training resources.

The 2015 SDSUG Conference will be held Tuesday, April 21, 2015

Location: Sanford Research, 2301 E 60th St North, Sioux Falls, SD.

Registration Fee: $50 (Students: $25 - SEE INSTRUCTIONS BELOW ON HOW TO REGISTER AS A STUDENT)

REGISTRATION INSTRUCTIONS:

1. Registration fees can be paid by credit card on the registration site or by check at the conference.

2. If paying by check, select "CHECK" as your method of payment on the registration site and bring your payment to the conference.

3. Students who register will need to enter "STUDENT" as his/her "Title" and "UGSTD" in the "Discount Code" box to receive the student discount. Click "APPLY" and continue through until you click the "FINISH" button.

4. Please allow South Dakota SAS Users Group to share your information with SAS Global Users Group and SAS by checking "YES" to this question on the registration form. That way, you will remain in their database and will receive future SAS user group information.

5. You can register and pay for others in your work group but you will need to register them individually.

6. Your registration is not complete until you've clicked "FINISH".

7. The deadline for cancellations is April 14 to receive a full refund.

The 9th annual SDSUG conference was held on April 24, 2014 at POET Research, 4615 N Lewis Ave, Sioux Falls, SD.

75 SAS users attended this event from Wells Fargo, Sanford Research, Capital Services, POET Research, PREMIER Bankcard, Tyson Fresh Meats, SAS Institute, South Dakota State University, Dakota State University and University of Sioux Falls.

== April 11, 2013 Annual Meeting/Conference: ===

Our 8th annual conference has been CANCELLED!!!

Dear SDSUG Followers!

Hopefully this message finds you safe and warm! It is with great sadness and regret that we have decided to cancel the 2013 SDSUG Conference that was scheduled for this Thursday, 4/11/2013.

The weather situation is treacherous and we cannot expect anyone to travel based on the warnings that have been issued by local authorities. Local residents are experiencing much property damage and power outages. This storm is expected to continue into Friday, 4/12.

Please accept our apologies for the inconvenience this will cause for all involved. The SDSUG Steering Committee will be visiting about solutions after this weather situation passes to see if we can salvage any of the hard work that was put into this event.

Also, anyone who prepaid for the event will receive a full refund of their registration fee.

2011 Annual Meeting/Conference: SDSUG 2011 was a huge success with 55 attendees...That's 4 per 10,000 capita!!! The conference was held on Friday, April 29, 2011 and the venue was a full day SAS experience.

This was our 6th year and we experienced success in helping the local SAS user community in harmony with the SDSUG Mission.

2010 Annual Meeting/Conference: The SDSUG 2010 Annual Conference was held on Thursday, April 29, 2009 at Sanford Hospital in Sioux Falls, SD. There was a 2-Track, Beginner and Advanced topical venue. Guest speakers from SAS Institute, the Midwest SAS Users Group, and local users presented on selected topics from previous attendee feedback.

SDSUG 2010 was record year with 60 attendees. Thank you to all who volunteered in order to make it happen. Special thanks to SAS Institute and their visiting speaker representatives who graciously shared their knowledge and insights with the group. All would agree that this was a valuable learning and sharing experience.

Post Conference Survey Results


2009 Annual Meeting/Conference: The SDSUG 2009 Annual Conference was held on Wednesday, April 29, 2009 at the Ramkota Hotel. There was a 2-Track, Beginner and Advanced topical venue. Guest speakers from SAS Institute, the Midwest SAS Users Group, and local users presented on selected topics from previous attendee feedback.

SDSUG 2009 was a success with 40 attendees. Thank you to all who volunteered in order to make it happen. Special thanks to SAS Institute and their 3 visiting speaker representatives who graciously shared their knowledge and insights with the group. All would agree that this was a valuable learning and sharing experience. Please watch for upcoming information on next year’s event.


2008 Annual Meeting/Conference: The SDSUG 2008 One-Day Conference was held on Tuesday, April 29, 2008 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. There were over 40 in attendance and the meeting was a huge success. Thank you to all the speaker and volunteers that made this event possible.


Ribbon Cutting

2007 Annual Meeting/Conference: SDSUG 2007 One-Day Event for SAS Software Users Tuesday, June 12 at the Sioux Falls Convention Center. This event was attended by more than 35 users. We had the privilege of hosting a "Ribbon Cutting" held by the Sioux Falls Area Chamber of Commerce that was attended by an additional 20+ representatives of the chamber at 11:30 AM.


2006 Annual Meeting/Conference: SDSUG 2006 was the inaugural meeting held at the Ramkota Hotel on November 7, 2006. There was an overwhelming response and the event was a wonderful opportunity to learn and share information. The morning workshop and one of the afternoon talks were given by Andrew Karp of Sierra Information Services. Rex Pruitt of PREMIER Bankcard gave one of the afternoon presentations. David Kelley, Manger of the Output Delivery and Reporting development team at SAS Institute’s worldwide headquarters in Cary, NC gave the remaining two presentations on the afternoon of Nov 7.
