DESCRIPTION: The Vaccine Study Center is an expanding group within Kaiser's Division of Research seeking to increase our programming staff to accomodate new and existing vaccine research projects currently underway at the regional and national levels. These highly visible studies have direct and immediate impact on public health and policy. Duties include data management and analysis for pediatric and adult epidemiology studies as part of a large vaccine research team. Data management and analytic responsibilities require linkage of multiple large databases and the development and maintainance of moderate to very large sized research databases for use in data analysis and tracking. Produce graphs and tables for reports, presentations and publication. Carefully document all programs, data sets and analyses.

REQUIRED SKILLS:

• BA/BS in an appropriate discipline ( Computer Science, statistics, public health, mathematics or related field) or equivalent experience and training. Masters degree preferred.

• 3-5 years SAS programming experience on the job in a health related area; Experience with SQL, macros, AF, and SASGRAPH, PROC Report and statistical procedures in SAS preferred. and knowledge of unix and mainframe environments using TSO, SQL, DB2, and SAS.

• Must have experience with large databases, excellent communication and analytic skills, and the ability to function as part of an enthusiastic team with a reputation for high quality research.
