Based on some recent reactions on my first Blog Entry I decided to write this next, small blog entry.
Reading the paper of Ann Marie Martin on "Sharing programs developed in SAS for well defined requirements in the pharma industry" there was also mention of existing projects related to SAS Software on SourceForge.net. This triggered me to have a look around for these projects which resulted in writing this blog entry. Simply to provide a listing of projects that I found and maybe start a discussion or a starting place for completing the list.
These are the projects that I have found and which I could clearly link to SAS Software (usage):
- SAS Software Consortium: SAS Software Consortium--Making better SAS code for everyone!
- sas-tools: This project aims at being a repository of Open Source software/utilities written in SAS language.
- bpxs: Utilities to aid with the batch execution of SAS software programs
- mdutils: A library of utilities (e.g. macros) to help you write programs that take advantage of a SAS Metadata Server.
- SASMACROS: This project presents a place to collect and maintain the most generic and commonly used SAS macros.
- pyrsstep: SAS macros and sample code for stratifying (and aggregating) data according to time-varying covariates.
- CGI2SAS: CGI2SAS provides basic CGI scripting support for the SAS language. It is implemented in Python2.2 and SAS 8.2.
- QTL Macro: This is a SAS(r) Software macro package for performing multipoint QTL mapping using the DeFries-Fulker multiple regression approach to unselected and selected samples.
- exportFromXL: exportFromXL is a SAS macro for exporting data from Excel into CSV or TXT files using Dynamic Data Exchange.
- exportToXL: exportToXL is a SAS macro for exporting data from PC SAS onto custom-formatted Excel spreadsheets using Dynamic Data Exchange.
- OS3A: OS3A, the Open Source SASĀ® Software Applications, develops and distributes SAS Software applications and programs and systems programmed in other languages useful for SAS Software users.1
- DocItOut: DocItOut is a tool that enables SAS programmers to easily generate online documentation in HTML format based on the comments and statements from the SAS files.
1: You can also read more about OS3A on the OpenSourceDevelopment page (maintained by PaulOldenKamp)
I probably may have missed out on several projects. If so, please feel free to contact me or comment on this entry.
