Hi, (by the way this is a great site and will be even better as people start to use it).
I notice in the Opportunity Registry category there is a sub-category entitled 'SAS Opportunities - Pharmaceutical'. However this actually contains a job posting. It seems to me that the job posting would be better as an article and not a category and I thought about changing it. Not being familiar with wiki etiquette I decided against as I didn't want to do anything that might offend.
What do you think - should this job posting be an article? Would it be appropriate for me to sort it out?

(I also placed this on the discussion page.) For *usability* this whole category should have sub-category by date, by location, by job function. Of all places, a job description in a post on a SAS forum should be more explicit on what type of job. For example:
Clinical Trials, Statistician, New Jersey, USA, 21/14/2007, My_CRO
Subcat: Clinical Trials Subcat: Statistician Subcat: New Jersey Subcat: USA Subcat: Date Subcat: Organization

From my response to the comments on the Talk page:
Great suggestions - but I agree with Fruitynewt - these should not be subcategories. Some of the suggested categories are already available. Categories exist for Geography. So you can add New Jersey and USA. The New Jersey category page might not exist yet - so take a shot at creating it. Likewise, categories for Clinical Trials and Statistician make sense. We might p0ut Clinical Trials as a subcategory of Industry or something like that; Not exactly sure what to call the parent of Statistician. Note that in Web2.0, the concept of subcategories is making one category belong to another. That way they can be re-used (e.g., Geography can also be matched with User Groups).
However the applicability of categories for Date and Organization is not clear to me.
- For Date, once the position is filled, the page should just be updated to reflect that perhaps. You want to leave the page there so others can watch it so they are notified when it is updated for a new opening.
- Likewise for Organization, seems to me that you want one (or a small set) of pages that interested parties could watch so they are notified when there are new openings.
For both of these cases, we need to have users start thinking about watching existing pages instead of creating or trying to find new ones for positions. Of course there will always be new ones as new organizations take advantage of the site, but we should minimize the use of new pages for a new opening at an organization that already has a page.
