I think it might be helpful to see a link to the latest blog posts on the homepage section called "Blogger's Corner" using this link: http://www.sascommunity.org/wiki/Special:ListAllBlogs/ Or better yet, maybe you can include a block that displays the ten latest posts across all blogs?
Also, it would be nice to see the latest forum posts on the homepage.

There already is a link to the most recent blogs - and the link is on every page. It is Most Recent Blogs under page activity along the left hand sidebar.
And, WRT most recent forum comments on the Main Page, the software we are currently using does not provide a most recent that we can find. We are evaluating the current forum software and looking at potential alternatives.

I did eventually find it in the leftnav. It doesn't hurt to repeat links in more than one place, especially if you're trying to catch the attention of someone that doesn't want to take the time to scan the entire leftnav list.

This all might seem redundant, but the extra links to a list of recent posts might drive some more traffic to the blogs.
