Abstract

Where do the ideas for SAS®-related papers come from? How does a tentative topic idea evolve into a paper? What are some common errors to avoid when writing a paper? Is redundancy of topic a concern? Are SAS User Group conferences the only venues to publish papers on SAS-related topics? Is there a role for SAS in the fast-growing reproducible research movement? Publishing is currently (2014) undergoing rapid change in our digital world; how might that impact SAS-related papers? These topics and more are covered in this article. The focus of this article is on writing papers; presentations are only briefly mentioned.
