Talk:Washington DC SAS Users Group

Adding additional content would then make it easier for users to locate when using the search functions.

Agreed. Since the dc-sug.org site lists March 13 as the most recent meeting, perhaps Howard has only put this here as a stub for now and plans on putting in some details for the next meeting once it is closer.

I may copy some static content from DCSUG's site, but I'm reluctant to get into a parallel maintenance situation, where meeting announcements etc. have to be posted in two places. If wiki pages can incorporate RSS feeds, there may be a good solution.

RSS feeds are going to be available (just don't work right now because of the authentication needed). Folks on your email lists could all get accounts on sasCommunity.org and "watch" a DC Users Group event page. What else would you need so you could maintain it only on sasCommunity.org?

I was thinking of something else for the near term. dc-sug.org would originate a feed so that some of its content could be syndicated to sascommunity.org.

Either approach works. If you want to expand your potential audience, the watch feature is a nice way to do it. Personally, I keep on meaning to attend a DCSUG meeting, but . . . . .
Of course, for members who already know the web site, it is most convenient to them to have the content there (recognizing that you could do a redirect if you decided to put all the content at sasCommunity.org in order to save hosting fees).
