Thomson Healthcare is consistently seeking top talent for this critical position as needs arise for our business. Office locations include: Ann Arbor, MI; Evanston, IL; Cambridge, MA; Montvale, NJ; Santa Barbara, CA; Washington DC. These positions require a results-oriented SAS programmer to lead analyses of large healthcare claims databases. The ideal candidate will be able to direct programming tasks for complex health-related projects, including development, testing, implementation, and documentation of analytic methods using SAS.

• Complete SAS programming tasks for complex health-related projects. • Develop, test, implement, and document analytic methods using SAS. • Work both independently and with team of SAS programmers to complete programming activities on assigned projects. Experience in healthcare industry preferred, including experience with the following: • Bachelor’s degree in related field or equivalent work experience. • Minimum of 1-3 years experience programming in SAS, including DATA STEP and MACRO programming. • Ability to work independently on SAS programming projects. • Experience preferred with the following: large healthcare claims databases, healthcare coding systems (ICD, CPT, DRG, etc.), healthcare quality and/or cost measurement, healthcare episode groupers and risk adjustment methodologies, healthcare claims pricing systems. • Excellent problem-solving skills and high attention to detail. • Demonstrated ability to adhere to project deadlines. • Good oral and written communication skills.
