sasCommunity Tip of the Day

In SAS 9.1.3 and 9.2, SAS Workspace Servers do not support streaming output. However, you can simulate the functionality of streaming output, which allows a program to use DATA Step code and PUT statements to write HTML back to the user's Web browser. With a few tweaks in how you call the stpBegin and stpEnd macros, you can use DATA Step code and PUT statements to generate HTML. The trick is to set things up so that stpBegin and stpEnd create package output, instead of issuing an explicit ODS statement. See the see also link for more details.

NOTE: In 9.3 the Workspace Server directly supports a limited implementation of streaming.
