sasCommunity Tip of the Day

Some analysts use weights in their correlation analysis. This can be implemented easily in PROC CORR as it allows for the WEIGHT statement.

PROC CORR <statements>;
    <Other statements>;
    WEIGHT <Weight Variable>;
RUN;

The WEIGHT statement is used when you want observations to contribute unequally in the fitting of the model. For example, a weighting variable could be a calculated criteria for a study that measures adherence to your enterprise vision and mission.

However, the weight statement does not work with some options, and you should be sure to understand the ramifications of zero or missing weights.
