sasCommunity Tip of the Day
Did you know that you can read SAS data sets that were FTP-ed from other operating systems and are in still in a different data representation than that of your host computer?
For instance, you could FTP a SAS data set from your UNIX server onto your Windows workstation and use your SAS for Windows--via the Cross Environment Data Access (CEDA) engines--to process it. There are some restrictions and caveats to using CEDA, but it may beat using SAS/CONNECT and/or PROC CPORT/CIMPORT to perform data transfers, in some circumstances.
