As the first step in the decommissioning of sasCommunity.org the site has been converted to read-only mode.
Here are some tips for How to share your SAS knowledge with your professional network.
Tips:Automatically opening Excel workbooks created by the ExcelXP tagset
Certain types of ODS output, such as HTML and PDF, will be automatically displayed by SAS for Windows if you have chosen "View results as they are generated" in the Results tab of the Preferences menu item.
ExcelXP tagset output will not be displayed automatically, but you can open it using the Windows command START in an X statement. Use the system option NOXWAIT to automatically close the DOS shell opened by the X statement:
ods tagsets.excelxp file='c:\temp\class.xml'; proc print data=sashelp.class; run; ods tagsets.excelxp close; options noxwait; x 'start c:\temp\class.xml';
Be sure to close the file in Excel before running the program again; if you don't, the first ODS statement will fail because the file will already be in use.
You can use the START command to open any known Windows file type.
