Since this tip points to a longer article with the same title (in a different namespace), would category tags be beneficial? Seems to me they would just lead to duplication and clutter in the category displays.--Howles 18:01, 19 November 2008 (EST)

I've encountered a similar issue and can be influenced either way. Perhaps it does make sense to not put the category tags on the Tips pages. We might also want to consider whether the instructions suggest the convention you are using here, along with the issue of where the category tags belong. --Donh 19:09, 19 November 2008 (EST)

Probably ready. Need more input on the category issue however. --Donh 23:44, 23 January 2009 (EST)

A good tip; Understandable and valuable. --Charlie Shipp 11:11, 2 February 2009 (MST)

The column attribute "inheritance" seems a bit more complicated. Read about a related coding technique of using union in order to automatically adjust the length of the variables (to the longer) when appending tables at Inheriting Column Attributes (SQL). -- chang_y_chung 17:51, 24 January 2011 (UTC)

This extension to the discussion is too much for a tip. I would instead consider it in the more substantive article on Inheriting Column Attributes (SQL).--Howles 16:02, 22 January 2011 (UTC)
