proposal: new category for expired or closed employment opportunities

Hi Tesscunningham, I wanted to let you know that I proposed an idea here about making a category to put old or filled job postings on this site. I noticed you closed a bunch recently, and I don't think they should show up on Employment opportunities if they are closed. Your comments in the thread here would be appreciated! = paulkaefer (talk) 11:02, 4 May 2017 (CDT)

An alternate approach is to use Category:Remove. --Art Carpenter (talk) 12:33, 4 May 2017 (CDT)
True, but there is a value in preserving the posts. See the discussion there. For example, users can go through old posts to see what kinds of requirements have been common in the past, or what companies they may be interested in contacting. = paulkaefer (talk) 14:32, 4 May 2017 (CDT)

What to do when an employment opportunity listing expires

Hi Tess,

On Talk:Employment_opportunities, you asked: What should you do when an employment opportunity listing expires? The heading in the Employment opportunities has some instructions about what to do. It says that once a position is filled or expired you should update the listing article with that information and ... :

  • ... replace the category text [[Category:Employment Opportunities]] with the category text [[Category:Expired or Closed Employment Opportunities]].
I hope that makes sense. Also, if you want to have your user name in the text just add 3 tilde characters like ~~~ to get a link to your user page and talk page. There is no need to include all your contact details in your message as you can put them on your user page, or people can use the Email this user link, or even just leave a message here. And if you use 4 tilde character like ~~~~ then you can leave a signed and dated signature at the end of your message, like this. - Cameron (talk) 21:35, 13 May 2017 (CDT)
